JRPGs hit a low point during the last couple gens, so there's a ton of people who started gaming in the last 15 years who never "got into" JRPGs, but are now just getting into the genre now through Persona 5 and DQ11. But just because something is "old" doesn't mean that many new people won't be experiencing it for the first time. The problem with age being the only metric to determine "spoilers" is that it assumes that everybody will have consumed all media that they ever will be interested at the time it comes out. In gaming, the closest equivalent we probably have is the Aerith twist, and the twist that OP spoiler tagged is nowhere close. Its parodied everywhere, its something that impossible to avoid. I get what you mean about the Luke Skywalker thing, but thats a false equivalence because that single plot twist has become part of culture. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
